· Legal obligation - we have to collect or use your information so we can comply with the law. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to erasure, the right to object and the right to data portability.

· Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are: to respond to queries, manage complaints, resolve disputes, investigate issues, protect our business, maintain appropriate records, manage insurance matters, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are: Our legitimate interests are to promote relevant first aid training services to schools, nurseries and other organisations, keep relevant business contacts informed about courses and refresher training, and maintain business relationships. Recipients can unsubscribe or object at any time.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it. This includes providing first aid training, managing enquiries and bookings, issuing certificates, keeping business and accounting records, meeting legal or insurance requirements, handling complaints or claims, and managing marketing preferences.

As a guide, we normally keep:

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 2 years after the last contact.

Course booking, customer and correspondence records: up to 6 years after the course, booking or last transaction.

Learner attendance and certificate records: up to 6 years after the course, or longer if required by an awarding body, insurer or legal requirement.

Invoices, payment and accounting records: 6 years, to meet tax and accounting requirements.

Complaints, incidents, disputes or claims records: up to 6 years after the matter is closed, or longer if required by law, insurance requirements or safeguarding reasons.

B2B marketing contact details: until the organisation unsubscribes, objects, or we decide the contact is no longer relevant.

Unsubscribe and suppression records: for as long as necessary to make sure we do not send marketing to people or organisations who have opted out.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete it securely or anonymise it.


How to complain
